Gruene Hall in 2021

Well it's a cold day in Texas. My "TCU Horn Frog" son says it's snowing in Fort Worth! Keep it up there.....son.

Well there were no official gigs this weekend for the "Bill Pekar" camp so we decided to head up to Gruene, TX and do the tourist, day trip, fun stuff. My little birdy says she wanted to check out "Brian Pounds" at Gruene Hall. She said he was once on "The Voice". So, let's go!

If he's playing at Gruene Hall then he must not suck. We were not disappointed!

Brian Pounds & band played a heck of a good show for not playing in about year.  We had a nice conversation w John the keyboardist. Says he also plays with some guy named Cory Morrow, so no slouches for musicians.

I travelled all the way up from the coast to New Braunfels via Shiner and I downloaded Brian's tunes. I listened and really enjoyed the live album recorded at Cactus CafĂ© in Austin. Go check out Brian Pounds at http://www.brianpounds.com/bio. I know he's against down loading but I found his music on Apple Music. Go give him some love though through Venmo @BrianPounds.

Thanks to our good friends "originally from La Grange", Rick & Bobbie Fajkus for meeting up with us for beers and music. Met some of their friends and we were friends of relatives from the little ole town Seadrift. It really is a very small world.

We had to of course go eat supper at the Gristmill and "eye ball" that water tower. Looks so much like the old water tower in my old hometown. I had to take a video and make some "smart ass" comment. We didn't make it by for our yearly stop at the winery for Watermelon Wine. It was getting cold!!!

Next weekend Bill Pekar and myself doing an acoustic show in Galveston at Midtown Tavern. We start about 4pm, so if you are in the area stop
